Week 3 – Restoration after Sexual Failure

Day 15: Rebound Righteously

Audio: Malik Ewan
Ezekiel 16:8  Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine. 9  Then washed I thee with water; yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil

The nation of Israel is a prime example to us of how loving and long-suffering God is towards mankind. No matter how many times they failed, He always found a way to redeem them back to Himself. It is God’s goodness that leads men to repentance.

To overcome sexual failures, you must grasp the depth and breadth and height of the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. Scriptures put it this way – while we were yet sinners Christ died for the ungodly. Yes, He already paid the price for your sexual failure even before you failed Him. “Such love, such wondrous love that God should love a sinner such as I!”

This means that after faltering – whether by fornicating, or adultery, or meddling in pornography, masturbation or other sexual immoralities – the first step in overcoming is realizing the reason Christ had to die. It was for you to be delivered once and for all from these sexual failures. Yes, Jesus Christ died so that you can be released from the cycle of sexual immorality.

Still think it is too hard a burden to be released from? Well, the burden of the cross was heavier for it bore the sins of the whole world!

So yes, you can rebound righteously after sexual failure because of the blood of Jesus Christ. You can be redeemed from this bondage and be set upon a firm foundation to stand. Accept the Lord’s offer of redemption today.

Let’s pray…

Prayer Starter

Lord I ask you to restore me. I have failed. I have slipped up. Help me Father. I commit my ways to you, to never go back down the road of sexual immorality. I die daily to the desires that lead me away from you.
